New National Minimum Wage rates announced

The government has announced the new rates for the National Minimum Wage, effective from 1st October.

The rates increase by around 2%, but an important change is that the "adult" rate will apply to workers aged 21 plus, rather than 22 plus as at present.

The current and new rates are set out in the table below.
