Spotlight on Service (June 2010)
Updated Environmental Guidance Notes available for
download!
Legislative changes occurring up to April 2010 have now been
built into Mentor's Environmental Guidance Notes. These have been
uploaded to MentorLive.
Every guidance note produced by Mentor is reviewed and
updated (if necessary) on a rolling 6-monthly basis to fall in line
with likely legislative changes (April/October).
These updates ensure that you have access to the latest legal
information and also help to ensure that those businesses operating
within or working towards ISO 14001 meet the clauses related to
'document control' and 'evaluation of
compliance'. These clauses require businesses to demonstrate
that they are using/have access to the most up to date
documentation, as well as ensuring that they have the ability to
assess their environmental compliance.
Each guidance note is given a 'last updated' date in order to
identify when it was last changed. Where no change has occurred,
the previous last updated date remains the same. A
'document control history' is available in the
client area so that those using the toolkit can see a summary of
the changes made over time. Those using the toolkit should review
the document control log and download/print those guidance notes
which have changed (the notes which changed in the last review are
highlighted in grey). The document control log should be stored
with the guidance notes to demonstrate effective document
control.
It is not necessary to download all the updated guidance notes,
just the ones specific to your business. If you are unsure
which guidance notes are relevant to your business or you don't
have a password for the website then contact your consultant or the
24 hour Environmental Advice Service on 0800 634 7000 (option
3).
Old versions of guidance notes should be removed from the
toolkit and archived in section 6 of the Toolkit ('environmental
records').
