Updated in April 2026, our redundancy ready reckoner uses the £751 weekly pay cap to calculate statutory redundancy pay across all age and service-length combinations.

Entitlement is based on three things:
The formula gives half a week's pay, one week's pay, or one and a half weeks' pay per year of service depending on age band.
Our table applies these calculations for up to 20 years of service and ages up to 61. Employees aged 61 and over receive the same rate as those aged 61.

Keep it somewhere accessible. The next time a redundancy calculation lands on your desk, you'll have it ready.
